Tricky Parenting Moments – Don’t Do As I Do, Do As I Say, Are You Serious?

You will find all new and much more difficult parenting challenges staring at you squarely in the face once your little ones become teenagers. This is a part of learning that both of you will experience together. This is something that neither of you can run away from. But, this should not be seen as anything horrible. Luckily, both you and your teenager will enjoy this time in their life. There will be both new challenges ahead of you as well as new experiences that await you. You will need to determine what your child can handle and provide more challenges for them. But these things are all there to make your teens grow up and become responsible adults once they move out of your home.

All parents are aware of the fact that they have an amazing responsibility to be a great example for their kids. However, we do have the opportunity to get off the hook for a bit once they kids start getting older. Yet, there is no escape from this because most of us know that children are like hawks – it seems they do not miss anything.

This can pose issues for some parents, depending on their particular situation. We want the best possible thing for our kids, irrespective of what problems and shortcomings we have. We don’t want our kids behaving poorly, no matter the doubts we have. You could let your children understand all this by talking to the them and explaining this, if you think it’s a good idea. A solid foundation begins with you and it will carry them through the rest of their lives. The parent is the common denominator in their kids’ lives. Try to start by choosing simple ways they can help you around the house, which will benefit both of you. It is vital to explain why you have them doing these chores. Of course you can divide the chores and helping between the genders if you wish to do so. Your kids will already be familiar with you asking for them to do things in the house if you start this early. It’s always good to teach your children things that will help them learn many good habits for the future.

All teens come to a point where they think they are adults, just like their parents. We all understand what’s really going on and what the truth is and that is that they really aren’t. But still, belief is often a very powerful force in the mind of anyone.

They are young adults and should be treated as such. This can be done in a few ways. You can, for example, treat them like adults and inform them that there are certain things they have to do that go with the territory they crave. At this point, it may be necessary to redefine some rules around the home that are in line with their new found status. Parenting at home can be beneficial, especially when dealing with certain types of experiences. Managing their money and letting them decide what to do. Of course, they’ll still be safe even if they spend it all. They will come to understand that annoyance and frustration of wanting to do something but being unable to because there’s something different.
